Corsair Complete!

Well, I've finally gone and leveled my second 75 job. Corsair has been fun (though vastly expensive) so far, and I think it'll be even better once my gear improves.

My current goals for cor are the denali set, and a martial gun. My Nyzul static finally made it to floor 100, so we're going to start farming boss floors now :) Here's hoping we can get everyone all the gear they want now.

If only someone would sell a dang martial gun on the AH, I could proceed to merit up a storm for blm. I suppose I can do without since I finally broke in my coffinmaker, but having slug miss so much is highly irritating.

Now that I have a good meripo job, I'm going to try to cap merits on blm and cor. After that, I suppose I'll start on my third 75 :P

Return to Vana'diel

Well, I guess I can never truly quit this game... at least, not for more than 5 months as long as the servers are running. WoW got tiring again after less than a month of raiding :( how lame.

My brother started playing his character (Resi) again on a daily basis and managed to convince my dad to start an account. Having both of them to play with (not to mention a new person to teach the ropes to) made the decision to come back pretty easy.

I'm going to see if I can take things slow getting back into the game. Last time I quit and restarted, I started doing alot of events and got a bit burnt out... This time around, I think I'm going to focus on one event at a time, while leveling other jobs / farming for gil in my off-time.

Going to be starting Nyzule Isle on monday with some LS friends :) That should be pretty sweets.

Break Again

Just thought I'd post here to say that I've again taken a break from FFXI. Due to this I won't be posting on this blog any more. Playing FFXI was a fun experience, but I finally think its time for me to move on.

My thanks go out to all those that make FFXI a thriving game and community so many years after its release. May Altana smile upon you, and may your moggle never tire.

Update: The Last Few Weeks

The last few weeks have been interesting. After my sky shell Retribution broke up, I wasn't sure if I wanted to do sky anymore... Liyah and Riprolaud managed to convince me to move over to their shell xCorex though, and for awhile things were ok. Of course, after a few more weeks of runs, I got burnt out on sky again >.> and started dodging farming. Slowly our numbers dwindled, and just a week ago a majority of the shell decided to break.

Sky is repedative enough without having 2 shells break on you : / So, I think im done with it until I get a few more jobs that can use the good sky stuff.

In other news, I've managed to level my COR to 60 now. Its going to stay there until I get my Shark gun (need 9k more Imperial standard points still >.>) and until I get my RNG from 31 to 37.
Oh yeah, I also need to farm up about 300k more gil to buy the last few dice >.> I don't know why Corsair has to be so expensive...

I've also leveled my beastmaster from 13 to 20 and re-discovered how much I like the job. So, maybe I'll put COR on the back burner for awhile. Leveling BST could help me make some much needed gil too...so, theres that argument :P

Yesterday I did two Jailer of love fights! They both were very smooth, our first dropped the Halberd and a Novia earring, our second is where things got interesting though. About halfway though the fight, JoL spawned a group of sharks and they proceeded to use 3 instant TP attacks on our BLM party: 1 shotting 5 of us... Thankfully our melees were able to hold off the pets while the blms got back up and unweak, but it was scary nonetheless @_@;

Our vigilance was rewarded with full JoL drops (Novio went to Dirtyfishydish ^_^ congrats!) and a guest appearance by Absolute Virtue! @_@.... I sent a chump-shot thundaga III his way and proceeded to get Wynav raped. xD

All in all, I've been enjoying FFXI at a slightly slower pace than usual.

Empress Hairpin #3

Woot, camping Valkurm Emperor repeatedly finally payed off! On our last excursion to the dunes, Yohoshi, Smokee and I finally got Smokee his Hairpin!! yay!!!

There was 1 other camper there, but multiple VE camping sessions has turned me into a seasoned NM claiming machine, and we out claimed him.

NM Fights

Apparently, I've done a whole lot more NM fights than I thought I have pretty recently... I've downed Leaping Lizzy about 6 times now, Valkurm Emperor about 4 times, Tom Tit Tat, Hoo Mjuu the Torrent, Carnero, Stinging Sophie, and many, many, sky gods.

I finally have some time outside of work, play, and CSS work on this site to actually post some more... yay! Below are the rest of the screens I uploaded last week. I'm going to keep the captions / descriptions pretty brief. If I didn't this post would be twice as long as it already is. lol.

Generally though, these are the more interesting screen caps I've taken in my last six months or so of FFXI. I've done alot, but mainly these cover progression though ZM, CoP, ToAU, and amusing conversations I've had. Nothing too special, but It should give you a feel of what Kael has been up to ^_^;

P.S. Some of these Screens may spoil certain CSs for the ToAU and CoP mission line.

Yayyyyyy, I finally got around to fixing up the CSS for this blog. Its a little less busy now, but I'm not to sure about the color scheme. Hmmm.

Anyway, things are going on in a normal fashion. I've been splitting my FFXI time between leveling and Sky mostly for the last month or so : / Getting parties is a bit rough (even on COR), but I'm up to 51 now. The push to 75 should be kinda quick once I get into the Ahut Urgan levels.

I have a ton of new screenshots... I'll see if I can get around to posting them soonish ^_^;

As of two months ago I have taken a break from FFXI : /

Yes, this is my second break... No, I don't know if I'll be coming back...

I've been playing WoW again, but even that is getting stale for me : /

Maybe I'll drop MMOs all together sometime soon? Or maybe I'll pick up
Warhammer Online when it comes out. I guess time will tell.

Regardless, I wish the best for all those who still play FFXI ^_^ Maybe I'll see you guys someday soon.

Sea + Relic Drops!

It's been an awesome week. Finally finished up RDM37, Got my Walahra Turban, made sure my Mog Locker will remain open till 2009 (Thanks to a 99 stack of Imp. Bronze pieces), bought my Pluto's (2nd HQ staff so far) staff w/ KSNM service earnings (for 200k over the price it should have been >.>), and got not 1, but 2 awsome drops from my endgame events!

The first was my Merciful Cape. Got this little number from Ix'Aern (MNK) after farming up 3 HQ aern organs and killing our 4th or so IxMNK v3. This is the 2nd cape I've seen drop so far, hopefully we'll see many more for those who still have it on wishlist.

The second piece of {sweets} gear came from today's Dynamis-Beaucedine run (Just happened to be my first ever run). I had my tarutaru fingers crossed for some of these coats to drop... I never could've expected 3 to drop in one run though... I was content at just seeing the BLM coat drop to Icequeen (I hadn't even seen any BLM Relic drop out of dyna prior to that run), but when another dropped and went to Irapha, I began to hope for a third.

Looks like it was my lucky day too, because a third Sorcerer's coat dropped, and I was next in line!!!! Yay! :) Body isn't the most useful piece of Relic for BLM but it does look great, and it replaces my Black cloak (I was only keeping it for the refresh. lol).

After getting the drop, I didn't even care that we hadn't planned to attempt the win (We did actually attempt it, as our farming went really well. We managed to kill the mega boss 1 second before we were booted from the zone. lol, so, looks like we go back next weekend for Xarc access for me and Irapha.

My winning lot...against myself! (thank god I didn't have to outlot anyone. lol).

Strut that stuff! Sorcerer's coat is made of win!

After those two drops, I magaged to rang up to 'Superior Private' (enough rank to finally buy my lamiabane when I get the IS for it). A few more weeks of assault should see that I get my Yigit gloves and Yigit turban :) Hurrah!

AWSOME! Today, after months and months of hard work, late nights, and early mornings, I finally completed the Chains of Promathia storyline. It was not easy, but it was fun and DEFFINATLY worth the time I spent on it. I get to collect my reward tomorrow along with some wrap-up CSs ^_^.

Brenner Duel!

Yesterday, Courtney and I decided to do a Brenner Duel for the hell of it :P It was my 75BLM vs her 68RDM...not very evenly matched, but she went /nin and I agreed to not use -ga spells to remove her shadows quickly XD.

We gathered together in upper Jeuno, got the Brenner black book, and teleported out to the zone.

Courtney talked to the Herald NPC and the fight was underway.

After looking for each other for awhile, we finally met close to the beach (and close to Courtney's flammen-brenner >.>). She silenced me and began to melee me while I sat there and looked silly in my worthless nuking gear XD. Sadly, the detector guard around Courtney's flammen-brenner started casting fire spells on me... O.O It casted fire 3 and flare on me and I was out T_T.

Directly after I died, we were kicked out (I guess some one else had the zone reserved).

Arggh WTF?!??!

We agreed on a re-match at a later date in time, so, we'll see if I don't get killed by the damn detector next time. lol.

Airship onward!

Hey everyone, here are the screens I promised ^_^.

The Infamous airship fight wasn't really all that it was cracked up to be (thank god). Apart from the fact that I had to get up at 5:00 AM to start the fight, everything went smoothly.

Supaboi supertanked the mammets in phase one and we managed to beat them in under 10 minutes w/o any meds or 2 hours used. The Omega fight went just as smoothly, we only had to use 1 of our 4 CCB pumps on it :).

We started Ultima with plenty of time to spare and were doing pretty good until it got to about 33% when we fullwiped. Thankfully we had plenty of time left, so we all reraised and owned Ultima's face with our last 2 CCB pumps and our 2 hours. ^_^. 1/1 on Airship! yay!!!

After a few CSs and some easy NM fights, we were able to fight Tenzen, who was also a pushover. :). After Nag'molada nocked me out again I woke up in Sea.

Of course, after being warned about UFOs I promptly agroed one and got to enjoy some tenticals >.< It killed me and Sirrom, but we didn't really care. It was even kinda fun. ^_^

/wave everyone!

A few days ago I finally got Sea access!!!! Yay!!! CoP horror stories aside, I feel that stepping foot in Al'Taieu was a great accomplishment for me, and I felt like commemorating it. So, I've created this blog to track my day-to-day accomplishments and life in Vana'diel.

Now, I know there are a myriad of these types of blogs on the net, so, if you're tired of the old "See what I've done in my virtual world" scene, feel free to stop checking back. :P Otherwise, if you'd like to follow a cute tarutaru's daily life, /welcome ^_^.

Those of you reading this probably already know me but for those who stumbled upon this blog, I'll give some background. I've been playing FFXI since August 2005 and, despite burning out on the game a few times, keep coming back. I play a cute tarutaru black mage named Kael. I'm more than willing to help out friends (when I'm not busy), and I'm just starting to dip my toes into the deep end of the FFXI endgame pool.

As of yesterday, I am a member of Oceanidsgods, and do Sea runs on a weekly basis. I will also be joining Oceanids Einherjar next week. Currently, I don't do Sky (but I have access), or Dynamis (My shell fell apart T_T), for lack of time.

My social shells include Evolution II (lead by Pandoras. {Hello!} Emperorshand, Jayde, and Lionheartzero), and Jherg. Sadly, I don't show my face in Jherg alot...I can only stuff so many shells in my tiny tarutaru pockets O.o.

Thats about it for now, I have lots of screens to post from my short time in sea so far. I'll post 'em when I get home from work.
